Rose Petals

A photograph of a rose was the inspiration for this piece. The original bloom was in shades of peach, but I found that I had a greater variety of pink and red tones in my collection of fabric, so I chose those fabrics to depict the swirling shapes and gradations of colour. This also has been embellished with decorative yarns along the edges of some of the petals. This wall quilt was juried into the Ontario Juried Quilt show, displayed at the University of Waterloo, spring of 2003.

“Rose Petals ” was also juried into the Threadworks 2004 competition. The show at the Wellington County Museum just west of Elora, and toured Ontario galleries and museums thru 2007.
