River Rock

Size: 42” x 31” (2004)

A trip to Nova Scotia resulted in my focus switching to rock formations. I took several pictures, and selected a photo of smooth textured stones for this piece. Commercial batiks were used, but most of the stones were further hand painted for additional shadow  and water effects. Free -motion machine quilted with cotton threads. This piece can be hung in either a vertical or horizontal orientation.
