The Ice Princess

Crystal was created to take part in a Special Exhibit at the One of a Kind Christmas Show in 2006. Exhibitors were invited to create a snowflake theme object that best illustrated their talents, and it had to be suspended. Crystal was my contribution to the exhibit.  She was originally suspended, and after the show was mounted onto a hand-painted wood dowel and base.  A blue and white snowflake print fabric serves as the back apron of her outfit and she holds a fabric cut-out snowflake chain. Crystal also coincided with a doll club Lace Challenge.

Crystal is 25 inches high, 10 inches deep and 9 inches wide.

Materials: White sheers, silks, white satins and laces, cotton batik, polyfil, pearl and glass beads, textile pencils and paints, acrylic yarn, sequins.

Special Features: Wired fingers and wrists, lace-trimmed satin bloomers, with tiny pearl seed beads and clear or white sequins hand sewn onto the arms, into the bodice and as shoes.
