I wanted to make another creation for the December Doll Club Challenge, so I asked my husband what came to his mind when I told him the theme, "All Things Feathered".

He said, "A chicken with boxing gloves on."

I asked, "Why in the world would I want to do that?"

He said, "Featherweight".

It was such an odd concept, I had to try it. A friend of mine, Yvette Piiparinen, raises chickens, so she supplied a bag full of assorted feathers, and I added more I had found at a dollar store. The first body pattern miraculously worked on the first try, then each feather was carefully glued into place. The beak is bent because he's already survived his first fight. The gloves are stretch velvet and the legs are wrapped with gold cord.

 This one got alot of laughs, and even applause, from my fellow doll artists!
