Art Doll Gallery

After 12 years of creating 2-dimensional fibre art, I needed to take a break and renew my creative energies with a new art form.

Cheryl Smith taught me all I needed to know to become addicted to this mode of artistic expression. See her website here: www.magpieartworks.com

This is very time consuming since 95% of the work is done by hand, but I found myself completely immersed in learning how to make my visions come to life in soft sculptures.

Several technical challenges were presented as my ideas became more ambitious and complex. Marianne Reitsma's doll club in Ajax, Ontario, continues to provide opportunities for learning new techniques and experiments with different materials.

It's been a wonderful journey, and I can't imagine not having a doll in-progress. I hope you enjoy viewing my forays into figurative soft sculpture. Check back often, as this gallery will continue to expand!
